Hey guys! It is one of my favorite times of year. It is time to share my Christmas home tour with you! I love hopping from blog to blog to see the different ways people have decorated. I usually have a theme when I decorate, like last year's gingerbread man theme. Or snowflakes like a couple of years ago. This year I decided that since my color scheme was a bit non-traditional, that I would not have a set theme. I have to say, I am loving the plum accents!
I built this wood Christmas village out of scrap plywood. Last year when I built the mouse house for my son, I had some dollhouse windows I didn't end up using. I bought a few more from Hobby Lobby and they worked great! I added some lights inside them and they light up at night.
To cover the TV, I used ⅛" plywood cut to size and simply painted it grey. The kids used a hole punch to made lots of dots and then they glued them on for me. It gives it a snowy effect.
My favorite view of my mantel is from the hallway looking through the archway.
I kept it pretty simple for hte gallery wall this year.
My favorite Christmas hymn, Oh Holy Night, and some simple printables make up the artwork.
This year I printed off some of our past Christmas photos to hang up under the gallery wall. I had such a hard time choosing!
I use to put the tree up in the front window, but when we added the reclaimed wood shelves, the window in between them seemed like a better place.
I know purple of any shade is not the "go to" color for Christmas, but this moody plum was a fun departure for me. You can see all the details of my tree and the ornaments (Complete with sources) in my post from the other day.
I used my new favorite paint color, Vine Leaf by Behr, to paint this believe sign. It was a fun little project and it adds so much to the shelves.
Dubbed "the reading chair" since it is usually in between the bookshelves, this spot is usually filled with one of my boys. They fight over this spot when they curl up to read. But really, with all this natural light, any spot is a good reading spot.

Stacy that unexpected plum color is amazing! I love the contrast of all the greenery against the white and black. And your collection of houses on the mantel has me wanting some wood houses stat. So beautiful.
This is absolutely stunning! I've never seen a purple color scheme executed so beautifully!
Do you swap out printables in the living room frames for the seasons? I’m wondering how you avoid nail holes. I tried the removable Velcro in our bathroom and both small frames eventually fell off one falling in our cast iron tub chipping it. How are you anchoring your line holding photos? You decorating is lovely. The plum is a beautiful shade.
Usually I use the same nail holes and just switch out what is in the frames. I just filled in all the holes right before I decorated for Christmas because I wanted to change it up. But I had the same nail holes for 3 or 4 years before that. If it is something light weight, I have used that blue sticky putty stuff. It holds pretty well.
If you are worried about weight though, nails are the way to go.
