I have been in early May when most of the park was covered in snow, but we didn't do a snowcat tour. I will add that to our list!

I'm so jealous! In all the years we have been going, we have never seen a bear. Our family members did one trip but we took an alternate route and missed it. What a great experience!

My sister lives near Yellowstone and my daughter and I visited her and her husband this past summer. We hiked up to Lost Lake and on the way back down I heard a sharp "crack!" of wood breaking. At first I thought it was brother-in-law stepping on a branch, but then I looked up and there were two baby bears making their way up a tree! My sister shouted "where's the Mom?" and we spotted her a short distance away. We carefully back-tracked and walked up and around the trail to give her a wide berth. The babies just settled into the branches for a nap. Now I have a new appreciation for carrying bear spray!

It brought back many wonderful memories of our family trips to Yellowstone Park! It was our children's most favorite place to go camping, so we went every year. Gull Point was our favorite place to fish too. Hiking the scenic trails, and the fun shops and ice cream were always a must. The evening programs at the amphitheater was always enjoyable, and children getting their Junior Ranger badges was a great treat. AND the beautiful scenery of the mountains, streams, lake, and aromatic pine trees are favorite parts of Yellowstone. I'm ready to go again! Thank you for sharing.
