In reply to HFS. He did not work off of plans other than a sketch he did. He figured it out along the way. We estimate it weighs around 700 pounds.

Did he use preexisting plans for this? Or design it all himself? And do you have an idea of the gross weight? Curious to know if my Outback can haul something like this.

Fabulous. So much thought went into it, as well as hands on labor. To be able to conceive of an idea, work out the details, get it done on time and done well, those are lifelong skills you probably won't fully appreciate for years to come. They're oh so valuable in life, though. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
